What is the difference between a skin tag and a mole?

I went to a dermatologist yesterday, and got a general skin exam. I have a few moles that i wanted to get checked out, just for good measure since skin cancer runs in my family. The nurse who was examining me was not particularily polite or interested in making me comfortable while she examined me, so when she said dismissivily, "thats a skin tag" about a bump that happens to be in an awkward area, I didn't question her. I have always had the mole/skin tag, and always believed it to be a mole. I read online that moles are something we are born with, and skin tags are developed later on, usually later in life (I'm 18), so I'm wondering if she could have been mistaken. I guess it only really matters since I plan to probably get it removed, and because moles have the possibility to become cancerous. Could she have been wrong, and what exactly is the difference between the two? Thanks.

skin tags hang like tags. moles are like circular raised areas. you can get either removed easily. I don't think skin tags can become cancerous. I got my moles removed with a do it at home 20 minute herbal paste. I got it from here: www.wartmoleremover.co.uk Cheap and you can do it in the privacy of your own home
