Afraid of Skin Cancer?

I'am really tan, and i want to know if i'll get skin cancer. My mom has pretty bad skin because when she was little she would try to make herself tan like crazy, but she didn't. All she did was burn right up. I tan really well and never get burned, does that mean my skin will look like hers eairlier?
Afraid of Skin Cancer?
A person who burns first and then tans will have worse skin than a person who mostly just tans.

As long as it stay relatively healthy, you'll have nice leathery skin eventually. Seriously, make sure your diet has lots of antioxidants and drink plenty of water that doesn't have chlorine in it.

Just keep an eye out for odd moles popping up.

Here are some pics to go by.

Reply:Just because you are tan, and you don't burn, doesn't mean you definitely can't get skin cancer. You should just at least wear SPF15 in the sun, because you can still get tan, but its not as damaging as wearing nothing. Burning your skin can cause wrinkles and bad skin in the future, but not in all cases.

If you have any moles or birth marks, you should cover those in the sun, because a lot of skin cancer is caused from moles and birth marks being exposed to UV rays too much.
Reply:It's hard to know how you will look in the future.

Just avoid abusing your skin, even if you tan well, you still can damage your skill due to the ultraviolet light from the sun (ultrviolet light goes deep and damage skin cells even if you don't get burned); use sunscreen if you need to be exposed to the sun, eat healthy, drink water and avoid junk food as much as possible.
Reply:I don麓t think that you have to be concerned about skin cancer, if you take some very simple preventive measures, such as using a good tanner with UV protection, and don麓t taking long sunbaths. If your skin gets easily tanned, this means that it is prone to produce melanin, a substance that naturally protects you from UV damage, indeed. This does NOT mean that you don麓t need to take the preventive measures that I mentioned above. In case that you have some moles, they are not a concern unless you notice some changes in their size or shape. In that case you should go to a doctor. He will decide if it is convenient or not to remove the moles. Anyway, and just to reassure you, most of the cases of skin cancer can be cured when they are spotted in their earlier stages (characterized for changes in size or shape of moles).

Your mother seems to have a lighter skin than you. This kind of skin may be more sensitive to solar damage so she should always use tanners with high UV protection, don麓t expose herself too long to sunlight and of course she should avoid solar burnings.

Ohter measures that help peoptle to have a good skin is drinking water and have healty nutritional habits.
