Is it healthier to eat the skin on an apple or to take it off with a knife and eat it with no skin?

I like to eat apples with the skin off, because I don't like the skin very much. Though I do eat the skin, sometimes, but very rarely. I was just curious if it's healthier to eat an apple with the skin or without the skin.

Depends on where the apple comes from. If it's organic, I say eat the skin because it's nutritious. If not, you may be better off peeling it because it could have pesticides, wax, and who knows what else on it.

The skin is a useful source of vitamins and fiber, so it is advantageous to eat the skin if you can stomach it.
Reply:Definitely eat the skin! The skin is nutrients and fiber. You need fiber for healthy digestion and successful weight maintenance. Keep the skin! As with the potato, the skin is the healthiest part!
Reply:no you should eat the skin. it has a bunch of vitamins and stuff on it. just like the white stuff on oranges like the fuzzy stuff has more vitamin c then the actual orgage. stick with the skin !! :)

try eating apples without skin, seems like there is something missing..





God made the apples' skin for a reason, or he would have just made pears and no apples.

Reply:Unfortunately, it depends on where you got the apple. There is so much pesticides on fruit now that eating the skin of apples purchased in a big chain store is likely to be unhealthily now a days.

Reply:i was taught that the skin is full of vitamins,minerals. be carefull ,it could pose a chocking hazard.
