Okay, So my Skin is unbelieveably dry on my chin. I need help.?

So one morning i woke up to find a bump. (morethan likely an pimple under the surface of my skin) So i woke up got all worked up about it.Tried popping it. Pretty much gave myself an open wound right?

So i went to hockey and the bump was completely gone. But i was left with the open skin. So its a few days after that and ths scab came off and so did some of the skin around the area. And its fine now, but my whole chin now is nowcracking and it hurts really bad. I have hockey and school to go to. What can i do to help my skin. I have e been puitting a mousturizer on it and always have a thin layer on the area. And it seems to be doing nothing at all.

PLEASE HELP ME.

My daughter had a horrible reaction to an anti-acne cleanser that over dried her face terribly. It was really bad on her chin from her mouth down. Between that and how cold it's been here with the windy conditions it got really raw and chapped to the point of cracking and bleeding.

We've been putting plain petroleum jelly on it as a protectant and just washing with Cetaphil, being careful to use just plain water on the worst spots, once day. It has improved a great deal in just two days and should be back to normal within another two at most by the looks of it. Other moisturizers proved too irritating for her with all the other ingredients and burned painfully . Dry skin exposed to cold will get much worse. You can try the Vaseline even if it's just a thin layer before you go out on the ice. It will help and it won't burn like hades when you put it on which is a big plus and it's cheap.

lotion
Reply:I am guessing that you have some type of infection. If you can't get in to see your Doctor or a Dermatologist, I would certainly get to an urgent care.
Reply:get an exfoliating face wash, and use it every two days, it helps get rid of dead skin, and will make your face smooth
Reply:moisturizer is about all you can do really besides wait it out.

and dont pick at it anymore or over clean the area. too much washing will dry it out even more.
Reply:you might have a skin condition. it may be the type of soap you use try a product made to be soft on skin like phisoderm and consult a dermatologist
Reply:That happened to me but that was because i was in the sun for to long. Try to stay out of sun. That may or may not have been it. Put chapstick and lotion on it. Chapstick helps with cracking skin.
Reply:I would say E45 cream is your best option. you can buy it from the local pharmacy. its not too expensive and is very soothing, to your skin so pick it up asap. in the meantime vaseline usually does fro a quick fix! also id avoid getting the area near water or toothpaste or any make up as that will just dry it out. try not to touch it too much to prevent infection.good luck
Reply:What type of moisturizer are you using? I have lots of trouble with dry skin and so does my boyfriend. We use Aquaphor or cetaphil cream. It is more expensive than other creams, but IT WORKS!
Reply:dont put lotion, they are fine but the best moisturizer and which is sanctioned by the medical field is vaseline.

Apply a thin coat every night before you go to bed. And when you are out in cold weather. It will act as an insulator from moisture leaving your body where it is drying out. Trust me, this works.
Reply:I would recommend going to walmart and buying a moisturizer type thing called Aquaphor.

That stuff is amazing!!!

I have dry skin during winter really really bad and I use that stuff and it works great! You can either get it in a tube or a tub like thing.

That would be your best bet I think.

It is in a blue and white bottle or tub and you can find it in the area that has the lotions.

Also, if the moisturizer you are using now has any scent in it or alcohol...it will do more harm than good.

Get some Aquaphor!!!

Good luck!

Sounds like you got a real problem try this
Reply:I know exactly how you feel. I do the same thing when I get a zit. If there is no open wound on your chin right now, I say you need to exfoliate the area really good. Try the loreal microdermabrasion kit. After scrubbing the area, get some oil free moisturizer, like biore pore minimizing oil free moisturizer or Mary Kay's oil free moisture gel. Dont use the lotion that comes with the kit...too greasy...could cause more zits.
Reply:GET STRIDEX

1 wash face

2 use stidex

3 apply thick coco butter or shea butter

rub in until gone--do not use to much
Reply:Keep it clean with a very gentle cleanser and keep a moisturizer for dry skin with an SPF on it. I think you've just irritated the area so bad it needs to heal - it's important to to touch it or irritate it further so it can heal. Try not to wear anything that will rub against it such as a high collared shirt.

After you sweat from hockey, be sure to wash your face right away and cover with moisturizer. That sweat will just irritate it further if it sits on their too long.

Unfortunately, I think you'll just have to wait this out...
Reply:Goddamn bro! You really fukkin' ya shist up huh? Nasty...

Do you still have any wound left? Because you don't want to keep that moist at all.

But if you are all healed and your skin is showing excessive dryness, go for a petroleum treatment, from diaper rash applications like Butt Paste to plain ol' Petroleum Jelly. The bitter conditions of hockey can't be helping at all either...
Reply:Dry skin types have to be extremely careful to protect their skin. Yogurt-honey combination helps dry skin. Make an egg pack with a yolk, a teaspoon of honey, a tablespoon of milk powder. This is beneficial to dry skin types. There are many helpful tips to cure dry skin at http://useinfo-dryskin.blogspot.com/
