Skin Whitening?

I was interested in facial skin whitening? :

1. Is it harmful?

2. What are the results like (have you used it) , do they make your really really pale, or just a few shades lighter?

3. Do they make your skin look flawless?

Thanks
Skin Whitening?
As what I've said before, you've come to the right guy! (I'm the editor in chief in our publication), although some of them who already got the answers, mine is brief and believe me i've already tried tons of skin-whitening products before (specially on FACE)! I'll tell you an answer base from my own personal experience rather than answers that could only get on the net (which is truly rampant here)...

Basically, Im a Filipino, and as we all know Asian have fair complexion, and base from the studies, majority of Asian race always runs for these skin whitening products! Anyway, let's get started...

1. No, it's not harmful. Personally, I havent experienced any trouble using different skin whitening products for EIGHT YEARS (since 2nd yr. highschool up to date as 5th yr. Engineering student--i think if i'll try to sum it from soaps to lotions to astringents to creams, i've already undergone 10 different products)... the only thing would happen is, of course, you'll get whiter skin, but the speed of result varies on the product (as of now, the best product I could promote which is cheap as well is OLAY-- and it isnt harmful as well even if you're not old enough to use it-- trust me! im only 21 years old!)

2. Honestly, (do you know chin-chan-su? it's known here in philippines made from china and it's very very cheap too!), i've made some mistakes using those as i put the product very often, from morning upto evening, and the result---- i looked like a ghost as my classmates keep laughing on me, oh how embarrassing that was! Yes, it made my face very pale (i only used it on my face) and the product made my skin very oily too!

3. IT DEPENDS.. Some whitening soap could make your skin very dry; some astringents could lighten your skin as it helps to soften, minimize the pores, and smoothen it, but what's the bad thing is, it could also leaves the pimple marks dark (if you have pimples) and your face too oily; and some cream only makes your skin white but if you take a closer look at your face, it could be rough and dry like having a dead skin cells.

A good combination would be a whitening facial wash (as it wouldnt make your face rough and dry compare to soaps), then apply whitening astringents VERY GENTLY, lastly the cream (better to use Nivea whitening facial cream or what Im using right now, Olay)...

REMEMBER: Whitening your skin doesnt mean your freckles/blemishes would also vanish... yes, some could lighten your face but the marks could be left behind.

If you want to, here's my strategy:

L'oreal pure zone exfoliating facial wash

L'oreal pure zone pore tightening astringent

the most important of all, OLAY for blemish prone skin

Actually I dont know your skin type (normal, oily, dry), but using the three of those thrice a day would be promising enough to a better complexion.

Not being boastful, but many people always tell me that I've a fairer skin now compared before.... I finally found the right combination!

Wish you could found yours too!
Skin Whitening?
I don't know, didn't know anyone did that but Micheal Jackson.
Reply:uhm, the only way a person would need skin lightening is if they have scars (like acne scars) otherwise i dunno why you wouldn't like your complexion. It's about looking healthy n glowy not white n pale cause dead people look like that :)
Reply:It might help you..^_^
Reply:I dont think its harmful its pretty mubh normal for people to use whitening soaps/lotions in some countries..

ive used whitening soap before and it made me 2 shades lighter it depends how often you use it

not all of the products make your skin flawless but if you get your skin lightened professionally or something they can probably make your skin flawless but soaps will help..
Reply:Not sure but how ever your skin is LEAVE IT. I love dark skin and think its lovely. Accept yourself for who you are and love yourself cause your brilliant no matter what anyone says
Reply:Avoid sunlight exposure if you are not using a sunblock 30 and above! UV rays can cause pigmentation. creams and lotions are available in the market but never get one without you consulting your dermatologist or test the product yourself as there are certain products who worked on others but maybe not on you. Dermatologist can do skin peeling and give you appropriate creams to apply on, then there are pills your doctor may give you to enhance your treatment and which can lighten your skin evenly and that is GLUTHATIONE. This is an anti oxidant that has a whitening effect, it controls the melanin... But make sure to ask your derma about the dosage that is appropriate for you. Here in the philippines, actress and other TV personalities use gluthatione and I bet they look so beautiful. The skin is perfectly even and it is pinkish white. If you have a dark underarms it will lighten up and if you have pigmentations it will lighten up also. Therapy is for life and the result will appear after 3 months. There has been no reported side effects. I don't know if its the same pills michael jackson is taking but I guess it's not coz this gluthatione will make you natural looking. It is expensive that's why filipinos rarely buy it only those who can afford and if their work requires them to...:-)
Reply:the body shop has a great moisture white range that helps to even out your skin tone and make it look more flawless
