Just before I get my period, my skin is at its worst, then it clears up for 3 weeks then it gets back to being bad. Which is ironic because the most fertile period is said to be the one where women are most attractive...I went to see a dermatologist, but nothing he recommended worked, I clean my face but it's like my skin responds to my cycle and not to outside factors. Anybody had this? Will taking the pill solve the problem or just cause me to get fat and breakout? Any solutions?
Skin complexion influenced by cycle??
Yes! This is called hormonal acne. It is triggered by a production of hormones, called Androgens. Androgens produce oils on your face and scalp. During your period, more oils are produced. This is normal. I have been on the pill before and it did help my skin, but had other negative side effects I didn't want to deal with. This doesn't mean the same for you, because everyone's bodies are different. You can try the pill and see if it helps, but consider yourself lucky your skin seems bad to you only one week out of the month.
