Went to doctor %26amp; he said its psrorsis. I have two red patches on my neck with silvery scales. Other parts of the body is fine but it's shedding, too (there are dead skins on my clothes, even my socks). Why is that? Is my skin renewing faster. Any remedies. I don't want to apply steroid cream on my skin.
Serious answers please.
Whole body skin shedding question.?
I have exzema, similar, but not the same. The best thing I ever did was switch to "free" detergent for my clothes. The second best was to purchase a humidifier for my house (20$). These two things freed me from scabs, bleeding, scratching, itching, and shedding. If you shave you legs, do so at a minimum every other day.. Buy a numbing cream for the bad days when you forgot to fill up the humidifier and are driven nuts by the itching. The steriod creams are really fine, for a year or two, don't be scared of them, etting started on treatment, they can help.

I know, right, humidifiers are insanely awesome! Report It
Reply:try going to a holistic doctor for a second opinion or google a site with holistic remedies if you don't trust your doctor's recommendation.
Reply:Psoriasis sounds accurate to me. I don't know about holistic treatments but in general if the skin is irritated, it is more likely to flare up. So basically only putting hypo-allergenic soaps on your skin and using fragrance free lotion to keep your skin moist might help. If your skin is dry and its exposed to different irritating perfumes that is going to make things worse. Hopefully you can avoid using the steroid cream except in the worst situations.
Reply:Have you talked with a dermatologist? I would recommend that you see one, if the doctor that diagnosed the condition isn't one.
There are many different medications and therapies to treat psoriasis. Two therapies that do not involve using steriods or other drugs that suppress your immune system are UV light therapy and some Vitamin D compounds. I would definitely look into other treatments besides steriods, because they can cause damage to your skin if they are used on a long-term basis.
